Four passes compete for the visitor arriving in Paris, and each is sold by someone with an interest in you finding it worthwhile. This site exists to run the sum the other way round: what the entries you actually intend to pay for really cost, and the point at which a pass becomes cheaper.
Who writes this
These pages are written by Pierre P., a keen traveller — not a tourism professional: someone who bought these passes for himself, as a tourist, and did the sums afterwards.
I have used city passes in both Paris and New York. That is what prompted this site: in both cities, “is it worth it?” has no clear answer until you add up the entry prices yourself, and nobody does that for you — least of all the people selling the passes. The maths published here is what I would have wanted to find before paying.
How the comparisons are made
- Prices come from the operators, not from the passes' own sales pages: the public rate for the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Versailles, a river cruise. Each page carries the date of that check.
- The break-even point is calculated, not guessed. A €150 two-day pass only pays off above a certain basket of entries — that basket is listed, so you can run the sum against your own plans.
- Transport is counted separately. It is where passes mislead most: an “transport included” line is only worth the premium if you genuinely make enough journeys, and a Navigo Easy is often enough.
- Where a pass does not pay off, we say so — including the one that earns us a commission.
How the site is funded
By affiliation: some buttons lead to a seller (Awin, GetYourGuide) and a booking made after that click earns a commission, at no extra cost to you. That creates a possible bias, and the only honest answer is to make it visible: the passes compared here do not all pay the same, and some — the Paris Passlib' — pay nothing at all, since they link to the tourist office. No ranking is for sale and no seller reviews these pages.
What this site is not
It is not a reseller: no pass is bought here and no payment is taken. It is not an official site either — for terms, cancellation or a dispute, the seller you booked with is the authority.
